Celebrating 70th Anniversary of Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956

The House marked the 70th anniversary of the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956, which created the Interstate Highway System. Representative Tracey Mann spoke in honor of the anniversary, saying President Eisenhower, a Kansan, understood that good roads help the economy, keep people safe, and connect communities, and that the country should keep building infrastructure. Mann also used the time to recognize Martha Mendoza, a longtime aide, for 25 years of service helping Kansans with federal government issues.Written by AI from the debate. Updated .
