Expanding Scotus

The House debated expanding the Supreme Court. Representative Mejia argued that the Court currently holds too much power and called on Congress to add justices, set term limits, and pass an ethics code for the Court, saying the Founders designed the republic to guard against concentrated power. She also used floor time to congratulate a new police chief in Maplewood, New Jersey, and a new commanding general at Picatinny Arsenal; no Republican floor statements are included in this sample.Written by AI from the debate.
