Vote on Jones Nomination (Executive Calendar)

The Senate voted on the nomination of Jones, which was confirmed by a vote of 46 to 44. Both parties announced some of their members were absent: six Republicans and three Democrats. Little substantive discussion is recorded in the available statements; most of the noted exchanges were the announcements of absences before the vote.Written by AI from the debate. Updated .
