Introductory Statement on S. 5373

“Mail is slow in my state. People don't get their letters or medicine on time. I asked the Postal Service to fix it but they didn't. They tried to hide problems from an investigation. Veterans have trouble getting their medicine. The Postal Service gets a lot of money but still loses money. They said they would improve but they didn't. They slowed down service in rural areas. But the bosses get big bonuses and special perks. I say stop the bonuses. Cut costs at the top before making people pay more for bad service. I will block Postal Service nominees until they fix the mail service in my state. I want them to stop slowing down mail in rural areas. I want mail in my state to be delivered quickly.”

Statements on Introduced Bills and Joint Resolutions

“I don't like the Postal Service. People in my state get mail late. Veterans don't get their medicine. The Postal Service sent a letter many miles away instead of close. I wanted to fix it. Postal Service leaders didn't want to fix it. I asked for an investigation. The investigation found many problems. Veterans get their medicine late. The Postal Service wanted money to fix it. Congress gave them money. The Postal Service didn't fix it. Now the Postal Service wants more money. Executives get bonuses and benefits. I don't like that. I made a bill to stop it. I want the Postal Service to make changes in my state. I want to find a new model for the Postal Service. I want to work with other Senators. We need to fix the Postal Service.”
