Justice for Victims of ICE and Cbp

Official Congressional Record ↗

Al Green

Democrat
“I am going to talk a lot about injustice. Injustice is bad. The President is covering up bad things that happened. I will not be silent. I want to impeach the President. I want people to see the injustice. Voting for impeachment is a matter of life and death. The President is covering up killings of civilians. I have accused the President of a coverup. A coverup is an effort to keep an illegal or unethical act from being made public. The President controls ICE and CBP. They have killed innocent people. These people have lost their lives. The Department of Justice is owned and operated by the President. The courts can't act because there is not a case before it. The local investigators can't act because they don't have enough evidence. Only the Congress has the authority to impeach a President for high crimes and misdemeanors. We should not wait to impeach the President. This is a matter of life and death. We cannot wait until we have a majority. This President deals in fait accompli politics. He does things until you stop him. He will pardon people who assaulted the Capitol. The President can pardon the officers who killed these people. We must expose this coverup. We must have accountability and affordability at the same time. We cannot sacrifice accountability. We must have justice for the victims. The President is operating a vicious paramilitary force. The President has their backs. The President will pardon them. The President is engaged in a coverup. We must take a stand against this injustice. We must impeach the President. We must have justice for the victims and their families. I will stand with the victims. I have been censured, not silenced. It is better to stand alone than not stand at all. I yield back the balance of my time.”
