Orders for Wednesday, August 5, 2026

This was a scheduling announcement rather than a policy debate. Senator John Thune asked unanimous consent to set the Senate’s calendar: the chamber would adjourn after completing business that day and return at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, when it would consider moving to a appropriations-related funding measure, with a vote on a nomination scheduled for 2:15 p.m. No substantive arguments for or against the funding bill were made in this exchange.Written by AI from the debate.
