Rand Paul Republican

“I object to this bill. Local towns should be able to decide for themselves if they want data centers. This bill would stop them from choosing, especially in places with a lot of federal land.”
Official Congressional Record

Reserving the right to object, local communities have a right to determine whether a data center makes sense for them; some want them, some don’t. This bill would obstruct that right in places where Federal land is so abundant, you can’t drive 5 miles without running into it. Washington should preserve local flexibility rather than declare an entire category of land off-limits. I object.
