Discussion · Senate
Marsha Blackburn Republican
“Both parties worked together for years on this bill, and it protects free speech. I want the Senate to approve the updated bill right now without any objections.”
“I thank my colleague for his consistent work on this. He is so right. This has been something that we have worked on for years, and it is the result of so much bipartisan work and negotiation in explicitly putting in protections for free speech. Mr. President, notwithstanding rule XXII and as in legislative session, I ask unanimous consent that the Senate proceed to the immediate consideration of Calendar No. 446, S. 4591. Further, I ask unanimous consent that the committee-reported substitute amendment be agreed to; that the bill, as amended, be considered read a third time and passed; and that the motion to reconsider be considered made and laid upon the table.”
