“I voted against this effort to stop people from peacefully protesting. The Constitution protects our right to peacefully protest injustices, including the genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza.”
Official Congressional Record

Mr. Speaker, and still I rise, and for this one moment, I have a very terse and laconic message. For this one moment I would simply say: If you cannot peacefully protest the genocide that took place in Gaza, if you cannot peacefully protest this, what can you peacefully protest under the Constitution of the United States of America? I voted against this effort to prevent people from peacefully protesting what they see as an injustice. What took place in Gaza was collective punishment. It was ethnic cleansing, and it was genocide. In this country, the Constitution allows one to peacefully protest such injustices.
