Mr. Speaker, the Family Table Collaborative in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, is improving access to nutritious food on Cape Cod. Under the leadership of Jeni Wheeler, Family Table Collaborative has distributed more than 200,000 fresh, nutritious meals since 2020. A few weeks ago, I visited with Jeni and her incredible team at their kitchen, where they prepare meals from scratch each week using recovered surplus food that is perfectly good to eat but would otherwise have gone to waste. These nourishing meals go directly to people in need and are customized to meet specific dietary needs. Family Table Collaborative stepped up last winter to ensure that families had hot, nutritious meals during a particularly grueling blizzard. Mr. Speaker, you can't be healthy if you are hungry, and Family Table Collaborative is tackling the interconnected problems of food insecurity and poor nutrition. Jeni and her team at the Family Table Collaborative are making Cape Cod more food secure. Their model should be supported and replicated to improve access to nutritious food and end hunger now.
