Cubin National Historic Trails Interpretive Center,’’ sponsored by Senator Cynthia Lummis in the Senate and led by Representative Harriet Hageman in the House.¹ This bill honors former Representative Barbara Cubin, Wyoming’s first woman elected to Federal office.² During her 14 years in Congress, Representative Cubin strongly advocated for Wyoming and the West.³ As a founding member of the Congressional Western Caucus and chair of the House Committee on Natural Resources Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources, she worked to advance responsible development of America’s natural resources and improve the management of our Federal lands.⁴ Representative Cubin also played an important role in shaping and telling the history of the American West.
