Mr. Speaker, I rise today to celebrate the upcoming 98th birthday of Coweta County's oldest veteran, Harvey Wortham. Mr. Wortham was born on October 7, 1928, and is a lifelong resident of Coweta County. In 1954, Mr. Wortham enlisted in the United States Army and completed basic training in South Carolina before receiving advanced instruction in track mechanics at Fort Knox in Kentucky. He was then deployed to Coleman Barracks in Mannheim, Germany, after which he was honorably discharged as a specialist third class. After completing his service, Specialist Wortham returned home, resumed his work at the cotton mill, and cared for his beloved grandmother. He and his wife of 63 years, Betty, who is smiling from above, built a joyful life with 3 daughters, 5 grandchildren, and now 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Speaker, I am honored to thank Specialist Wortham for his service to our country, and I am delighted to wish him a wonderful 98th birthday from the floor of the United States House of Representatives.
