As founding director of Toledo’s Grace Community Center, Betty devoted decades to others with the same grace for which the community center was named.¹ She supported young men and women as they navigated parenthood. She offered after-school care to thousands of children and reinvigorated Toledo seniors with a sense of belonging.² Our community will miss Betty deeply. We grieve with her loved ones. Our community celebrates her life and will remember her fondly for the tenacity with which she served others. Her life and legacy will live on in the unrelenting mission of Grace Community Center to better the lives of northwest Ohio families.
